McALESTER — The Boys & Girls Club of McAlester will hold a baseball clinic on Feb. 22 at the Al Horton Special Event Center. Second-grade players and younger will go from 6-7 p.m., and third-grade players and up will go from 7-9 p.m.
Former Major League Baseball player U L Washington will be teaching at the clinic and will sign autographs after. Washington is currently the hitting coach for the Greenville Drive, a Boston Red Sox minor-league affiliate.
There are currently 38 customers experiencing power outages in the McAlester area as of 10:30 a.m., according to Frank Phillips, Community Affairs Manager of Public Service Company of Oklahoma.
Fighting KOs Eufaula Classic in third
Fighting between the North and South All-Star teams forced the 29th annual Lake Eufaula Classic to end without a winner with 6:41 left in the third quarter. The South had been leading when the game ended, 12-10.
Clemency denied for OSP inmate set for execution
Clemency was denied May 17 for a death row inmate who is scheduled for a June 18 execution.
