Local schools prepares for ORES Playoffs

McALESTER — When the Organization of Rural Elementary Schools basketball playoffs kick off this week, McAlester-area schools will have representatives in all four divisions. Each division breaks down to four areas, and Frink-Chambers will serve as an area site in three divisions.

Frink-Chambers’ run through Division I Area III starts on Saturday. The girls will play at 4 p.m., then the boys at 5 p.m., with the winners moving onto the Area Finals on Thursday.

Frink-Chambers will also host part of the Division IV Area I tournament, in which both Haywood’s boys’ and girls’ teams will compete. The girls’ game starts at 5 p.m. on Thursday, the boys’ game at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Krebs will make its run through Division II Area I at Twin Hills in Okmulgee. The Lady Eagles will play Saturday at 5 p.m., the Eagles directly after.

The Tannehill girls’ basketball team, meanwhile, will play in the Division III Area III tournament at Cottonwood in Coalgate on Saturday at 1 p.m.
