McALESTER — A Durant man and a Hartshorne woman are listed in critical condition after being involved in a car wreck Sunday morning.

According to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Eric Tiger, 24, of Durant, was driving a 2009 Dodge just before 9 a.m. Sunday with passenger Allyson Smith, 22, of Hartshorne.

Tiger was driving on State Highway 1 in Pittsburg County about a half mile east of Hartshorne when his vehicle ran off the roadway tot he left, the report states. Tiger over-corrected and struck a 2007 Honda driven by Joffrey Banggawan, 41, of Hartshorne, the report states.

Banggawan was treated and released at the scene of the accident, according to the report.

Both Tiger and Smith were transported to the McAlester Regional Health Center before being transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where they were both listed in critical condition, the report states. Tiger was admitted with head and internal trunk injuries, the report states, and Smith was admitted with internal trunk, arm and leg injuries.

The accident was investigated by OHP Trooper Garrett Gray, of the Pittsburg County Detachment, and he attributes the cause of the collision to driving under the influence of alcohol.
