Commissioners lease two motor graders worth over $200,000 each

McALESTER — Pittsburg County commissioners approved a lease contract Monday during the regularly scheduled commissioners meeting for two motor graders. Each grader is worth $211,650. Commissioners approved a lease agreement for the graders for a total monthly payment of $3,096.34. The lease can last up to five years, according tot he commissioners, and will have to be renewed yearly.

Also on the agenda, commissioners unanimously approved:

• Blanket purchase orders and weekly fuel bids;

• Awarding a bid for 12 new parking spaces and two inch overlay for the Crowder Community Center parking lot to Glover and Associates;

• An agreement between Pittsburg County District No. 2 and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation for the Gary Sherer Wildlife Management Area — commissioners sign this contract yearly and agree to maintain about a mile and a quarter of roadway in the wildlife refuge;

• Approval of a contract between the Board of Commissioners and Ideal Cleaning for cleaning services for the Pittsburg County Courthouse and Annex and the Pittsburg County Oklahoma State University extension center;

• Resolution to cancel a purchase order for the Haywood /Arpelar Volunteer Fire Department — the original purchase order was for $50 for chain saw repair and was paid for via another purchase order;

• Resolution to cancel a purchase order for the Pittsburg County Office of Emergency Management for $432.50 to Muskogee Communications —‚ the purchase order was not used;

• Resolution to cancel a purchase order for the Canadian Volunteer Fire Department for $499 to Goldstar Products for an asphalt repair kit which was already paid for via another purchase order.

Commissioners also tabled an agenda item to award a bid for Mat Maintenance and Uniform Services for further review.

The Pittsburg County Commissioners meet every Monday at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ conference room at the Pittsburg County Courthouse. The meetings are open to the public.
