McALESTER —
Greg and Sheryl Baker are announcing the approaching marriage of their daughter, Candice Elaine Baker to Kenyon Seth O’Daniel, both of Hartshorne. Kenyon O’Daniel is the son of Clair and Sheri Kihlstorm, of Hartshorne, and Kenneth and Yvonne O’Daniel, of McAlester.
Candice Baker is the granddaughter of Robert and Linda Smith, of Hartshorne, and Curtis and Lilly Baker, of McAlester. Kenyon is the grandson of Marguerite Lackey, of McAlester.
Candice Baker is a 2010 graduate of Hartshorne Public School. She attended Eastern Oklahoma State College for one year. She graduated from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in December with a degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics.
Kenyon O’Daniel is a 2008 graduate of Hartshorne Public School. He also attended Eastern Oklahoma State College. He will graduate in August from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology with a degree in Natural Gas Compression.
The wedding is set for March 16, 2013, at St. John’s Catholic Church in McAlester.

Harold Newland, 81, participated in commencement at the University of Oklahoma on Friday and got a new copy of the accounting degree he earned nearly 55 years ago. Newland missed graduation after earning the degree and has thought of returning to Norman ever since.
