EOSC Lady Mountaineers win two in a row

WILBURTON — An already strong season for the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers got even stronger Monday, when the team traveled to Seminole to face the Lady Trojans and came back with a 79-73 win. It was the Lady Mountaineers’ fifth consecutive win, improving them to 16-5, according to the National Junior College Athletic Association.

EOSC’s fourth consecutive women’s basketball win came on Jan. 25, when it defeated Connors State at home, 69-64. The Lady Mountaineers were led by sophomore Shola Adebayo of Oklahoma City with 18 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in that game, according to a press release by Trish McBeath of the EOSC Office of Communications and Marketing.

While the Lady Mountaineers have been strong of late, the Mountaineers have struggled, losing their last three games. EOSC’s men’s team fell 82-80 to Seminole on Monday and fell 100-96 to Connors State on Jan. 25.
