McALESTER —
A McAlester pilot escaped injury Monday when he had to land his plane in a field in Pushmataha County.
Ronald Ervin Allford was flying a Bellanca Super Viking aircraft from McAlester to Austin, Texas, on Monday when the plane’s engine lost power, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Allford made an emergency landing at around 3:15 p.m., the OHP report states, in a field approximately 10 miles north on Miller Jumbo Road in Pushmataha County.
Allford was not injured as a result of the emergency landing and no other injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
On Tuesday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was in route to the scene of the accident, the OHP report states.
