McALESTER —
The 60th Annual Men’s Holy Week Breakfast week is set to begin Monday and continue until Saturday.
All gentlemen in the area are encouraged to attend the free breakfasts which began 60 years ago as a way for to observe the Holy Week before Easter.
The breakfasts are planned each year by representatives from six churches in the McAlester area.
For the first time in 60 years one of the participating churches will not be in downtown McAlester.
The Tuesday breakfast will be at First United Methodist Church which recently moved to its new location on the corner of 13th Street and McArthur Boulevard.
The schedule is as follows:
• Monday at 7 a.m. the breakfast will be at The First Christian Church, 300 E. Carl Albert. The speaker will be John Graham from All Saints Episcopal Church.
• Tuesday at 7 a.m. the breakfast will at the Fist United Methodist Church, on the corner of 13th Street and McArthur Boulevard. The speaker will be Bob Bahe of First Baptist Church.
• Wednesday at 7 a.m. the breakfast will be at All Saints Episcopal Church , 323 E. Washington. The speaker will be Philip Stizza from St. Johns’ Evangelist Catholic Church.
• Thursday at 7 a.m. the breakfast will be at St. Johns’ Evangelist Catholic Church, 315 E. Washington Ave. The speaker will be Pete Mills from First Presbyterian Church.
• Friday at 7 a.m. the breakfast will be at First Presbyterian Church, 222 E. Washington. The speaker will be Carter Eaton from First United Methodist Church.
• Saturday at 7 a.m. the breakfast will be at First Baptist Church, 100 E. Washington. The speaker will be Bill McMahon of First Christian Church.
