McALESTER — McAlester resident Tina Chavers shows off her triplet tomato she said grew from a single vine. She and her husband Benny have 10 plants that she said have grown 429 tomatoes with still more coming in. “We’ve had tomatoes most all our lives and never seen this many,” said Tina Chavers. “So far 36 quarts have been canned, they will be great this winter for sure.”

Future Stars camp coming in June

Harold Newland, 81, participated in commencement at the University of Oklahoma on Friday and got a new copy of the accounting degree he earned nearly 55 years ago. Newland missed graduation after earning the degree and has thought of returning to Norman ever since.
