Buffaloes come back against Cardinals

McAlester shuts out Collinsville in second half

McALESTER — The Collinsvile Cardinals emptied their arsenal in the first half against the McAlester Buffaloes, hoping to put Friday's playoff game at Hook Eales Stadium away early.

The strategy didn't work. And when the Buffaloes started firing back in the second half, the Cardinals had nothing left.

Caden Pratt rushed for three second-half touchdowns, and McAlester's defense shut out Collinsville in the second half to give the Buffaloes a 29-9 victory in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs.

McAlester will play Deer Creek on the road next Friday night.
