MPS Board of Education plans for a long day

McALESTER — This evening, the McAlester Public Schools Board of Education will have their regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 p.m. as they do every second Monday of the month at the Old McAlester High School. However, a special meeting and a reception will take place before.

A special meeting that was posted last week for the board to see recently purchased school transportation and to tour various school sites.

The board will start the tour by boarding one of the newly purchased buses at the Old McAlester High School, then tour Emerson Elementary, McAlester High School, Washington Early Childhood Center and Puterbaugh Middle School in that order by way of new buses that were purchased recently.

Afterward, a reception will be held to honor summer volunteers, at 5 p.m. until the regularly scheduled meeting.

These meetings are open to the public.
