NORMAN —
Oklahoma's defensive emphasis will be on limiting Baylor's big plays on Friday.
The best way to slow the Bears' high-scoring offense is make them score on drives of 10 plays or more.
Of the 56 scoring efforts the Bears have had through the first eight games, only 16 have been on drives of 10 or more plays. Six of those long drives ended in field goals.
Baylor's average scoring drive this season has been 6.5 plays, 60.1 yards and taken 1:50 off the clock.
The Sooners have only allowed three touchdown drives on 10 plays or longer. Just one of those — Iowa State's 15-, 75-yard drive late in the fourth quarter — occurred when the majority of OU's starters were on the field.
