Oklahoma’s multicounty grand jury to reconvene

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma’s multicounty grand jury is scheduled to reconvene.

The grand jury will meet Monday through Wednesday at the state Attorney General’s Office in Oklahoma City. The 14th multicounty grand jury was requested in September by Attorney General Scott Pruitt, who administers it.

The jury has jurisdiction to investigate criminal matters in all 77 Oklahoma counties, assisting local law enforcement as well as handling matters of state interest. The grand jurors meet monthly to hear testimony for two to three days. Testimony before a grand jury is closed to the public.

The previous multicounty grand jury wrapped up its work in August with 25 indictments that charged a total of 31 individuals. A total of 113 state and local law enforcement agencies assisted in the multicounty grand jury’s investigations.
