NORMAN —
FORT WORTH, Texas — A victory this afternoon against TCU would give Oklahoma at least a share of the Big 12 championship for the eighth time in the last 14 years.
But here are some of the other things the Sooners can achieve with the victory over the Horned Frogs:
• A BCS bowl berth (most likely the Sugar Bowl) for the ninth time since 2000.
• Finish the season 5-0 against teams from Texas. (OU’s already beaten UTEP, Texas Tech, Texas and Baylor).
• Go undefeated in the regular season away from Owen Field for the first time since 2004.
• Give OU a 10-win season for 11th time since 2000. Virginia Tech is the only other school from a BCS conference that has accomplished this that many times since 2000.
• Improve to 5-0 all time in Fort Worth. The Sooners won the previous meetings with the Horned Frogs.

OU spring football notepad
Oklahoma defensive end D.J. Ward has finally been cleared by the NCAA. The freshman participated in his first practice Tuesday.“I’m really excited for D.J. It’s been a long process, but fortunately he’s been cleared to practice,” OU coach Bob Stoops said after Tuesday’s practice. “He has to spend two days in just helmets. So he couldn’t do much. But he did fundamental work in learning the defense.”The two practices Ward will spend without pads come prior to OU’s annual Red/White Spring Game at 2 p.m. Saturday at Owen Field.
