McAlester graduate shares his families experience at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics
My wife, Lisa, and I wanted to experience the Olympic ambience at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver B.C.
We experienced all the major venue associated with Vancouver, including the Olympic Village, Richmond Olympic Oval, BC Place, Victory Park, Pacific Colosseum, Granville Island and many others.
One evening upon returning back from the Olympic Torch, we had the privilege of meeting Al Roker, from the Today Show, an encounter that magnified the adventure. Meeting Mr. Roker just added to the overall experience.
This was a once in a lifetime experience; there was so much to do in Vancouver, between all the sites, venue, free concerts and laser shows.
Host nations of the Olympics presented a world of opportunities to all their guests.
The beauty of the city Vancouver really took our breath away. The inter-locking of mountains and oceans were captivating. Vancouver was truly a gorgeous city.
If you ever get the opportunity to experience a sporting spectacle like the Olympics I highly recommend you go.
Lisa has family in London, so we are already talking about trying to experience what London has too offer for the 2012 Summer olympic games.
