The McAlester Buffaloes are led by 16 seniors who are eager to end their legacy as Class 5A State Champions.
The Buffs must first get past Tulsa’s Nathan Hale Rangers Friday. The kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Hook Eales Stadium.
The first-round playoff game in McAlester is a sanctioned O.S.S.A.A. event. The only passes that will be excepted will be the O.S.S.A.A play-off pass. McAlester students and Buffaloes’ season ticket holders will be required to pay the $5 cover.
The Buffs (9-1, 6-1 district) were privileged with home field advantage after a 21-7 win over the Ada Cougars. Hale’s Rangers (6-4, 5-2 district) are coming off a 21-13 win over Pryor.
“Hale is better than they were when we played them two years ago,” Head Coach Bryan Pratt said. “We have 16 seniors who played well at the junior high and freshman level. Now they are a dominant football team.”
McAlester High School scheduled a pep-rally, sponsored by Wal-Mart and Dr. Pepper, today at 7 p.m. in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
