ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper will give an opinion if asked whether underclassmen should enter the NFL Draft.
On Tuesday, he said Oklahoma safety Tony Jefferson made the right move in coming out early, while wide receiver Kenny Stills should have returned to school for his senior season.
Kiper also weighed in on cornerback Aaron Colvin’s decision to stay for his senior season. The analyst thought Colvin made a very wise move.
“He’s my number two corner going into next year, and that’s a pretty good spot to be in,” Kiper said of Colvin. “When you look at the versatility,he provides that to a secondary, he did a good job this year. When you go into a year as the second-highest rated corner — and he would not have been that if he would have come out — that’s a good move.
“He’s a guy you look at and say he made a solid decision. Some of these guys come out and all of a sudden on draft day they’re wondering what happened. Why didn’t I go as high as maybe I should have or where I thought I was? You have to know going in where you project and you have to look at where you’re projected to got the next season.”
