Food Drive

McALESTER —

Members of the Canadian FFA chapter held a canned food drive for a needy family within the community for Thanksgiving. The food drive ended Thursday Nov. 15 with the chapter collecting 256 canned and non-perishable food items. In addition to the canned food, the family will receive a prepared Thanksgiving dinner purchased and prepared by the Canadian FFA chapter. "It always feels good to help out others in need, especially during the holidays," said Dustin Finch, Canadian FFA President. "If we can make a difference in just one family's life, then our job is done." FFA members have been collecting food for 2 weeks and will deliver the canned food and Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 16. "Getting out there and giving aid to those in the community is a desired attribute I strive to instill in my FFA members. We are here to serve" stated Amber Hitchcock, Canadian FFA Advisor. "I am proud of these kids and the great works that they do.
