Over 520 Will Rogers Elementary students show off their school spirit Friday. Every student and teacher is pictured with a Will Rogers shirt. Shirts were purchased at cost and some were donated to make sure that every student felt like part of the team.

Vann Award
Jesse Vann, left, graduating Senior of McAlester High School was presented a Five Hundred Dollar Scholarship from the Kilihoti Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution by Scholarship Chairman, Nancy Downing. Downing presented the scholarship to Vann at the McAlester High School Awards Assembly. Vann is the son of David and Wendy Vann. He plans to attend Eastern Oklahoma State College and hopes to become a writer and study to be a director.

Nina Doshier has been honored as class valedictorian and Beth Lyons was recognized as salutatorian at the Haywood School graduation May 9 at 7 p.m. in the Haywood School Gymnasium.
