McALESTER —
An Oklahoma City man was recently accused of trafficking drugs into McAlester.
Anthony Dexter Washington II, 26, was originally charged with five different drug related felonies in January. Then, on Aug. 9, those charges were dismissed and on Aug. 10 Washington was charged in Pittsburg County District Court with trafficking in illegal drugs and unlawful possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute.
According to court records, Washington was at the West Ridge Apartments in McAlester on Jan. 14 and allegedly had a variety of drugs in his possession. He was arrested on that day and booked into the Pittsburg County Jail. Washington is currently in custody in lieu of a $25,000 bond and was unavailable for comment at presstime today.
He is due back in court Thursday at 9 a.m. to face charges. If convicted, he is facing up to life in prison.
