McALESTER —
An Ada man has been hospitalized after his vehicle ran off U.S. Highway 270 near Arpelar on Friday afternoon and flipped.
Gailon Smith, 51, was listed in serious condition Friday at McAlester Regional Health Center with head, leg and arm injuries, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Investigating trooper Mike Stafford reports Smith was apparently sleepy when his eastbound vehicle ran off the right side of the highway at 1:44 p.m., two and a half miles west of Arpelar. The vehicle went over a guardrail and hit a culvert before flipping onto its top.
