McAlester man pleads in meth lab case

McALESTER — A McAlester man who was connected to a local methamphetamine lab bust pleaded guilty to reduced charges recently.

Timothy Wayne Jewell, 39, was originally facing felony drug charges before pleading guilty Oct. 23 in Pittsburg County District Court to misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to court records, local authorities executed a search warrant Sept. 7 in a home on East Taylor Avenue in McAlester. After securing the residence, and detaining the occupants, officers searched the home and allegedly found numerous items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine, according to a police affidavit.

Seven people were arrested and charged in relation to the alleged methamphetamine lab, including:

• Angela Pree Eldridge, 36, of McAlester;

• Melissa Mae Rodriguez, 33, McAlester;

• Jeremy Paul Eldridge, 31, McAlester;

• Allen Ray Jewell, 35, Okmulgee;

• James M. Evans, 35, McAlester;

• Hayley Lucille Floyd, 19, McAlester; and

• Timothy Wayne Jewell, 39, McAlester.

All seven were charged with multiple drug related felonies and misdemeanors.

Angela Eldridge, Rodriguez, Jeremy Eldridge, Allen Jewell and Evans were charged with manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, maintaining a place for keeping /selling controlled substances and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, Angela Eldridge was charged with knowingly possessing a drug product containing pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

Floyd and Timothy Jewell were charged with maintaining a place for keeping /selling controlled substances, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

After pleaded guilty to the reduced charges, Timothy Jewell was fined $910 and sentencing was deferred for one year.

Floyd is due back in court Nov. 28 to face charges. The remaining defendants are due back in court Jan. 28 to face charges.
