McALESTER —
Officials say a Wilburton man was listed in critical condition after being hit by a truck on US 271 early Friday.
Dewayn Tallant, 36, of Wilburton was standing in the southbound lane of US 271 when he was struck by a truck driven by David Young, 24 of Albion, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred just before 3 a.m. four miles north of Talahina in LeFlore County, the report states.
Tallant standing in the road and Young was unable to avoid striking him.
The report states that Tallant was transported to Latimer County General Hospital where he was listed in critical condition with head, internal trunk, external trunk, arm and leg injuries. He will be transferred toTulsa once he is stablized.
