McALESTER —
A countywide emergency burn didn’t keep tempers from flaring during Monday’s meeting of the Pittsburg County Commissioners.
Pittsburg County residents Curtis Golden and Leonard Bachman came to the meeting on Monday after District 2 Commissioner Kevin Smith suggested they return in July during a May 7 meeting. The men said they were following up on a request for commissioners to address an ongoing road damage issues on Bache Road and Richfield Roads where he said a private trucking company was driving overweight trucks 24 hours a day down the road which has a “no trucks” sign posted.
“What’s the signs for?, Golden asked the commissioners. “When you put the road signs up didn’t you all want the law to be enforced? Are you all in agreement that that was the purpose of the signs?
