McALESTER —
Eight people were hurt Tuesday morning after a pickup truck hit another pickup head-on, and then was hit by a semi-truck that rolled on U.S. Highway 270 in Dow. The driver of the pickup hit by the semi was pinned in the wreckage for nearly an hour.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, injured in the four-vehicle accident were Regina Ballard, 39, of Hartshorne; Mitchell Shumway, 26, Eric Kitchell, 28, Patrick Allford, 29, and Terry Robbins, 23, all of McAlester, and Gomez Marino, 60, of Del City. In addition, Lucille Giles, 56, of McAlester, was treated for chest pains at McAlester Regional Health Center after the 6:16 a.m. wreck, and Ryan Shumway, 28, of McAlester, refused transport to a hospital for treatment for minor injuries, OHP reported.
