McALESTER —
An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agent says he became concerned about District 18 Drug Court participants because of the power the drug court coordinator and an assistant district attorney held over them.
Agent John Jones testified Wednesday afternoon during the third day of a preliminary hearing at the Pittsburg County Courthouse in McAlester.
Jones responded when Assistant Oklahoma Attorney General Charles Rogers asked him to elaborate about his concerns.
Jones said he felt concerned “they were going to get into some kind of trouble for talking with us.”
The preliminary hearing in the case began Monday and was expected to continue Thursday at the Pittsburg County Courthouse. Okmulgee County Judge Duane Woodliff , who was assigned to the case, will determine if there has been sufficient evidence to order the defendants bound for trial on the conspiracy charge.
