Richard Anthony Falis Jr. dies at 53

McALESTER — Richard Anthony Falis Jr., 53, of McAlester, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2012, at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Pastor J. P. Hackler officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Oct. 14, 1959, in McAlester, he was the son of Richard A. Sr. and Frances Ann (Miller) Falis. He grew up here and graduated from McAlester High School in 1977. He then attended welding school in Tulsa and did some welding work there. He worked as a welder at WebCoat for a while and then worked at the Army Ammunition Plant. Most recently he had been doing custodial work at several places, including The Oaks, Will Rogers School and the J. I. Stipe Center.

He had also served in the United States Air Force through one enlistment. He had been associated with the Pathway to Truth Church in Krebs.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Falis, of the home; four children and four stepchildren, Shaun Anthony Falis, Sarah Ann Falis, Jeffrey Dwayne Falis, Joshua Anthony Falis, Jimmy Patterson, Destanie Patterson, Henry Snow and Gary Patterson; two sisters, Jayme Ruth Secrist and her husband, Butch, of Krebs, and Elizabeth Reaves, Tyler, Texas, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, James and Ruth Miller and Mario “Babe” and Mary Falis, and a brother-in-law, Rix Reaves.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Steidley and Doug Brown.
