McALESTER — William “Bill” Emil Long, 63, of McAlester, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at his home.

No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born April 20, 1949, in Fort Ord, Calif., he was the son of William and Phyllis Gene Manske Long. He was the oldest of four children.

He served in the United States Army from 1967 until 1982. His tours of duty included Vietnam and Germany. He was an Infantry Paratrooper.

He married Madolin Davidson on July 3, 1989, in Phoenix. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for a number of years before retiring and moving to McAlester in 2006.

He enjoyed working with his hands, from construction projects to building anything mechanical. He collected military memorabilia and was a Harley Davidson enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Madolin Long, of the home; sons, William Long, of California, Michael Long, of California, Kevin Long, of Arizona, Jason Long, of Arizona, and Randy Davidson, of McAlester; daughter, Rachael Davidson, Casa Grande, Ariz.

Also, four grandchildren, Michelle Holstein, of Arizona, Jasper Throop, of Arizona, Jasmine Davidson, of Arizona, and Randy Davidson Jr., of McAlester.

And, sister, Marybeth Halter, of Phoenix; two brothers, Robert Long, of McAlester, and John Long, Texarkana, Ark.; nephews, Zach Halter, of New Mexico, Tyler Halter, Phoenix, Jordan Long, of California, Christian Long, of California, Robert Long, of Phoenix, David Long, of McAlester, Robert Long Jr., of McAlester, and Christopher Long, of McAlester; nieces, Samantha Long, of McAlester, and Janessa Halter, of Phoenix, and nine great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Phyllis Long, and a nephew, Robert Long Jr.
