McALESTER —
Utah Carl Crowson, 77, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at his home.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Emerald Coast Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Emerald Coast Funeral Home of Fort Walton Beach.
Born June 17, 1934, in Cabiness, he was the son of Thomas and Alice Crowson. He was one of eight children.
He served in the Air Force for 26 years, attaining the rank of chief master sergeant. He served in the Pacific Theatre during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed traveling the world and making many lifelong friends in the Air Force.
He was an avid artist and was a past president of the Fort Walton Beach Art Museum Association.
He also enjoyed playing golf as often as possible. He was a longtime Shriner and Free Mason.
He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.
Survivors include three siblings, Clyde Crowson, of McAlester, Linda Lay, of Henryetta, and Kenneth Crowson, of Oklahoma City; his wife Mary; his daughters, Jeffri Cook and Kelly Crowson; his son, Curtis Crowson; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice of Niceville, Fla.
