McALESTER —
Lewis Elmer Nobles, 66, of the Adamson community, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Dr. Tim Russell officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
Born Jan. 16, 1947, in Van Buren, Ark., he was the son of Thomas Clarence and Lola Johnson Nobles. He graduated from Hartshorne High School and was in the National Guard Reserves.
He began his career for Southwestern Bell Telephone as a lineman, later he installed phones, made repairs and worked in trouble shooting on trouble calls. He retired from AT&T with over 35 and one-half years of service.
He married Patricia Ann Southern on Dec. 1, 1995, in Fort Smith, Ark. They made their home in the Adamson Community.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the time spent telling tall tales to his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Nobles, of the home; son, Patrick Nobles, of Tulsa; brothers and sisters, Lavern Higgins, of Oklahoma City, Clarence Nobles, of McAlester, Lola Mae Tow and husband, Larry, of Moore, Jack Nobles and wife, Wanda, of Ashland, and Thomas Nobles, of Adamson; mother-in-law, Ruth Southern, of McAlester.
Also, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Nobles, of Oklahoma City, and Pamela Hamburg, of McAlester; brother-in-law, Dick Fry, of Hartshorne; stepdaughters, Ashley Kesselring and husband, Chris, Houston, Texas, and Hayley Mauldin, of Muskogee; step-grandchildren, Nolan, Amelia and Brooke Kesselring, and Dallas and Damara Mauldin, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger Nobles; sister, Shirley Dungan; his father-in-law, J.S. Southern; sisters-in-law, Linda Fry, Ann Nobles and Lessie Nobles, and brothers-in-law, Gary Hamburg and Bert Dungan.
Pallbearers will be Don Laws, Frankie Ray Ranallo, Richard Bivens, Bruce Raybon, Clark Kitchell and John Ranallo.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of AT&T.
