Dessie Faye Weeks, 93, of McAlester

McALESTER — Dessie Faye Weeks, 93, of McAlester, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, in Tecumseh.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel with Red Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Feb. 13, 1919, in Stuart, she was the daughter of William and Emma (Webb) Haynes. She married Fred Weeks on March 16, 1936. She worked at Elsing’s Manufacturing as a seamstress and inspector.

She enjoyed garage sales and sewing and had a passion for collecting dolls.

She was a member of the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Sass and husband, Carl, Elkhart Lake, Wis.; son, Carl Reed Weeks and wife, YuaVonda, of Shawnee; seven grandchildren, Kirk Sass, of Idaho, Jill Savrsnik and husband, Scott, of Wisconsin, Brett Sass and wife, Jeris, of Wisconsin, Lindy Reimer and husband, Ron, of Wisconsin, Carl Michael Weeks and wife, Kerry, of Texas, Sgt. David Weeks and wife, Laura, of Tennessee, and Shari Murrin and husband, Leon, of McAlester; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; parents, William and Emma Haynes; daughter, Maurita Coffee; infant granddaughter; four brothers; twin sister, Lessie Mae Salman, and daughter-in-law, Effie Weeks.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Helterbrand, Kermit Peters, Jim McLoud, Tim Maxcey, Butch LeCrone, Rick McCracken, Bobby Scott, Jack Haynes and George Scott.
