McALESTER —
Audrey Compelube Scarbrough, 89, of McAlester, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, in Shawnee.
The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home in McAlester.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m., Monday at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel in McAlester, with the Rev. Steve Eldridge officiating. Interment will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney Harkins Funeral Home in McAlester.
She was born to Bettis and Willie (Cook) Compelube on July 4, 1923, in McAlester. She attended Savanna Public Schools. She married Odis Scarbrough.
She worked at AT&T as an assembly line technician working on circuit boards until her retirement in 1988. Following retirement, she was a member of the Kiamichi Quilt Guild.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Davis, of Van Alstyne, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jeff Jarvis and wife, Bobbie; Jill Brown and husband, Rodney; Jennifer Ishmeal and husband, Marvin; Shelley Lowder, Jody Jarvis and wife, Emeli; Amy Green and husband, Kevin; Allison Davis-Burk, and Shannon Hackler and husband, Brandon; 18 great-grandchildren, eight great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Scarbrough; parents, Bettis and Willie Compelube; sons, Doyle Scarbrough and Ronnie Scarbrough; daughters, Rita Wacasey and Barbara Jarvis and brother, Kenneth “Buck” Compelube.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Jarvis, Jody Jarvis, Rodney Brown, Marvin Ishmael, Doug Bailey and Brandon Hackler.
