McALESTER — Ace Valgene Kramer, 86, of McAlester, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.

The family will gather to celebrate his life from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today  at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born July 13, 1926, in Stillwater, he was the son of Joseph and Ella (Myers) Kramer. He grew up in Stillwater, graduating from Stillwater High School.

Following high school, he entered the United States Navy and served during World War II.

When he returned, he attended Oklahoma State University. He worked as a carpenter and for the railroad.

He married Verna Gardner in 1969, and worked at Boeing as a quality control inspector until his retirement.

He was a gifted carpenter and enjoyed whittling, making bows and arrows, walking sticks and teepees.

Survivors include his wife, Verna, of the home; stepson, Mike Rasnic and wife, Thon, of Wichita, Kan.; twin brother, Ted Kramer and wife, Cynthia, of Troy, Mont.; brother-in-law, Don Higgins, of McAlester.

Also, nephews, Rick Higgins and wife, Rogeana, of McAlester; Gregory Kramer, Danny Kramer and Lee Kramer, all of Montana; nieces, Donna Little and husband, Jerry, of McAlester, and Karla Martinson, Ronan, of Montana.

And, grandchildren, Michelle Rasnic and John Rasnic; special friends, Mike and Sandi Maffeo, of McAlester, Sharon and Larry Watson, of McAlester, Ricky Curtis, of McAlester, and Donna Fairchild, of McAlester, and numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ella Myers Kramer, and brother, Joseph Christian Kramer II.
