McALESTER — Ace Valgene Kramer, 86, of McAlester, died Sept. 10, 2012, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

The family will gather to celebrate the life of Ace Kramer on Tuesday at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Arrangements entrusted to Chaney Harkins Funeral Home.

He was born July 13, 1926, to Joseph and Ella (Myers) Kramer in Stillwater. He grew up in Stillwater and graduated from Stillwater High School. Following high school, Ace joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII.

When he returned from war, Ace enrolled and attended Oklahoma State University. He worked as a carpenter and with the railroad. In 1969, Ace married Verna Gardner and worked at Boeing as a Quality Control Inspector until his retirement. He was a gifted carpenter and enjoyed whittling, making bows and arrows, walking sticks and teepees.

He is survived by his wife, Verna of the home; stepson, Mike Rasnic and wife, Thon, of Wichita, Kan.; twin brother, Ted Kramer and wife, Cynthia, of Troy, Mont.; brother-in-law, Don Higgins, of McAlester; nephews, Rick Higgins and wife, Rogeana, of McAlester, Gregory Kramer, Danny Kramer and Lee Kramer, all of Montana; nieces, Donna Little and husband, Jerry, of McAlester, and Karla Martinson, of Ronan, Mont.; grandchildren, Michelle Rasnic and John Rasnic; special friends, Mike and Sandi Maffeo, of McAlester, Sharon and Larry Watson, of McAlester, Ricky Curtis, of McAlester, and Donna Fairchild, of McAlester; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ella Myers and brother, Joseph Christian Kramer II.
