Trudie Gourley Morris, 88, of Stuart

McALESTER — Trudie Gourley Morris, 88, of Stuart, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, in McAlester.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Stuart with Brother Tommy Brannon officiating. Burial will be at Rock Creek Cemetery in Stuart. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.

Born Aug. 11, 1924, in Eulan, she was the daughter of Burl and Susie (Quick) Gourley. She married McConnell (Mack) Morris on Aug. 2, 1940, in McAlester, and they had three children.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stuart where she taught the ladies Sunday school class and loved singing in the choir.

She loved her children dearly, but her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She had many hobbies and interest.

Survivors include her three children, Joe Morris and wife, Carolyn, of Arpelar, Shirley Glover and husband, Paul, Rudy, Ark., and Sue Messell and husband, Mike, of Purcell.

Also, grandchildren, Joe Lynn, Kevin, Melinda, Canzada, Lucinda, Lisa, Teresa and Deanna; 14 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mack; two sisters, Vena Gray and Dorothy Stenson, and one brother, Lloyd Gourley.

Pallbearers will be Don Watkins, Richard Nunn, Joe D’Amico, Joe Taylor, Wayne Williams and Roger Morris.
