McALESTER — JoAnn (Crandell) Brown, 63 of Kiowa, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Atoka.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Today at Bishop Funeral Service.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Bro. Kenneth Sirman and Bro. Bill Kirk officiating.  Interment will follow in Hugh Low Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.    Born to Doctor D.  and Delours Loretta (Tollison) Crandell in Corcoran, California February 17, 1949.  

She graduated from McAlester High School in 1967.  She worked for Pittsburg County in the court clerk’s office.

JoAnn then worked for McAlester Army Ammunition Plant as a production worker and forklift driver.

She married John Brown May 6, 1989, in Caney.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, sewing, crocheting, music and movies.

She was survived by her husband, John Brown of the home; sons, Kenneth Sirman and wife, Jeanette of Chanute, Kansas; Jacobie Brown of the home; daughters, Angela Bagby and husband, Tony of Caney; Amanda Lee -Parham of Stuart; Alexa Brown of the home; step –sons, Chad Brown and wife, Shea of Bakersfield, California; Casey Brown and wife, Teresa of Bakersfield, California; Step –daughter, Jennifer Brown and fiancé, Roy Pittman of Caney; grandchildren, Kevin Martin, Scott Martin, Dakota Sirman, Colton  Bagby, Emery Bagby, Tessa Bagby, Ellie Bagby, Gage McArthur, K’den Lee, Zachariah Lee and Zayne Lee; eight step-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Kirk and husband, Bill of McAlester; Louise Cooter of McAlester; Sue Buff of McAlester; brother, Paul Crandell and wife, Eula of California; brother-in-law, Gary Brown of Arpelar; Numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doctor D. Crandell and Delours Loretta Crandell; sisters, Kay Fish and Joyce Bonetti; brothers, Jerry Crandell and Aaron “Boots” Crandell.

Active Pallbearers will be Roy Pittman, Shawn Cummings, Gaylon Brannon, Clint Brannon, Brody Brannon, Jamie Kopervick.        

Honorary Pallbearers: Gary Brown, Brent Davis, Jim Quinton, Wayne Dean, James Sloan, Tommy Bruton.
