McALESTER —
Corina Compelube, 77, of McAlester, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dan Walters and Randy Wesley officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery in McAlester. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Sept. 27, 1935, in McAlester, she was the daughter of Cecil and Ruby (Royston) Compelube. She worked as a nurse’s aide for home bound patients. She also provided for her nieces and nephews as their day care provider.
She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her sisters, Sharon Walters and husband, Dan, and Billie Lewis, all of McAlester; her nieces and nephews, Donetta Lewis, of Oklahoma City, Dana Watkins and husband, John, of McAlester, Regina Weeks, of McAlester, LaDonna Weeks, of Oklahoma City, Christie Compelube, of California, Jay Lewis and wife, Kim, of McAlester, Vincent Walters and wife, Shannon, of Ada, Danny Walters and wife, Christi, of Oklahoma City, Mark Weeks and wife, Danielle, of Indianola, Johnny Compelube and wife, Regina, of Fort Gibson, and Cecil Compelube and wife, Cindy, of Fort Gibson; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and special friend of 60 years, Pat Gonzales, of McAlester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Ruby Compelube; brother, Jimmy Compelube; sister, Tina Weeks, and nephew, Robert Long Jr.
Pallbearers will be Jay Lewis, Vincent Walters, Danny Walters, Mark Weeks, Johnny Compelube and Cecil Compelube.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Compelube and Cody Compelube.
