Jean Davis, 90, of Lawton

McALESTER — Jean Davis, 90, of Lawton, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at her home.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at Becker-Rabon Chapel. Burial will be at Post Cemetery in Fort Sill. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Lawton.

Born Sept. 6, 1922, in McAlester, she was the daughter of Eugene and Maltie (Selby) Farmer. She graduated from McAlester High School and then attended the Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha. She also attended Hershey’s Business School. She worked for the war department during World War II.

She married Col. (Ret.) Paul W. Davis in McAlester on July 6, 1945, and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2000.

She was an avid bridge player, traveling all over the country to compete in tournaments. She made duplicate life master in 1998.

She attended the New Post Chapel on Fort Sill.

She was a Cameron University President’s Partner and Ambassador to the Percussive Arts Society. She founded the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Humane Society.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Dave M. and Deborah Davis, of Lawton; two step-grandchildren, Timothy Goodman and his significant other, Renee Sadita, and Deanna and her husband, Rodney Vanover, all of Lawton; three step-great-grandchildren, Brynden Goodman, Lacey Alexander and Austin Alexander, and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Warren Farmer, and a sister, Doris Bratton.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
