Phillip Ray Daniels dies at 54

McALESTER — Phillip Ray Daniels, 54, of McAlester, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Blue Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Aug. 1, 1958, in McAlester, he was the son of  Edgar and Winnie Daniels. He was a long haul trucker for different companies and drove trucks for Big  V  Feeds for several years.

He was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie Nail and Marc McMurtrey, Fort Smith, and Audra and Beau Jordan, of Henryetta; his mother, Winnie Sue Daniels, of McAlester; five grandchildren, Allison Nail, Brighton McMurtrey, Natalie Jordan, Alisha Jordan and Chloe Jordan; one sister, Davina Sue Daniels, of Sallisaw, and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jerry Don and Deanna Daniels, of McAlester,  and David Daniels, of McAlester.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Daniels; his maternal grandparents, Ray and Myrtle Daniels and his paternal grandparents, Phillip and Muriel Daniels.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Don Daniels, David Daniels, Marc McMurtrey, Beau Jordan and Mike Verner.
