McALESTER — Kelly A. Smith, 48, of Kiowa, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kiowa First Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Dennis Piearcy. Interment will follow at Kiowa Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.  Born March 2, 1964, in Midwest City, she was the daughter of James Michael and Mae Arlene Pedersen Ragan.  She grew up and attended schools in Pauls Valley. She was a certified nurses aid and worked for Blevins Nursing Home and Mitchell Manor as well as other jobs in the medical field. She also worked for QFI for several years. She and her husband were together for 18 years and were married on December 17, 2007 in McAlester. She attended the Kiowa First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, John Smith, of the home; daughter, Jessie Smith, of the home; three sons, Matthew Scott Ragan, of Augusta, Kan., Marcus Allen Ragan, of Eureka, Kan., and Gregory Shawn Chester, of Holdenville; three step-sons, Keith Smith, of McAlester, Joe Lee Smith, of Savanna, and John Smith, Jr., of Oklahoma City; mother and step-father, Mae Arlene and Jerry Barnes, of Augusta, Kan.; father and step-mother, James M. and Robin Ragan, of Denison,Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Brian Morrison, of Pauls Valley; and numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Casey Morrison, William Drake, Jeffrey Drake, Greg Wheat, Phillip Pedersen, and Don Stonecipher.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Pedersen and Brian Morrison.
