Max Wainscott dies at 66

McALESTER — Max Wainscott, 66, of Francis, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at an Allen nursing home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Chapel with the Rev. Earl Hood officiating. Burial will be at Pine Cemetery in Coal County. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.

Born July 15, 1946, in Stuart, he was the son of Charlie E. “Pete” and Annie Virgie Cross Wainscott. He lived most of his life in this area and attended school at Gerty.

He married Frances Vaughn. He later married Carol Wainscott. He was a farmer and rancher. He also trained horses and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Maxie Wainscott, of Pittsburg, and Annie May Suter and husband, Ron, of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren, Chance and Mikal Wainscott, of Pittsburg, Trevan, Zachery and Maggie Suter, of Pittsburg, and Robert and Alyssa Suter, of Mustang.

Also, four sisters, Lemesa Chenney and husband, Dexter, of Atwood, Lou Janda, of Ada, Margie Kerr and husband, Don, of Ada, and Ailene Brooks and husband, Jim, of Wilson, and four brothers, Mearl Wainscott and wife, Jacqueline, Whitesboro, Texas, Millard Wainscott and wife, Allene, of Non, Ben Wainscott and wife, Nina, of Gerty, and Morris Wainscott, of Allen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lucas Bowdy Wainscott, on June 1, 2009, and a brother, Ferman Wainscott, on Oct. 14, 2006.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Kerr, Keith Kerr, Donald Byrd, Roger Byrd, Cecil Wainscott and Billy Don Wainscott.
