Katherine Anna Miano, 82, of Broken Arrow, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa.
The family will receive visitors Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hartshorne with Father Hung Viet Le officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hartshorne.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
She was born April 11, 1930, in Hartshorne, to George and Eva (Galoski) Swboni. She grew up in Hartshorne before moving to Ohio, where she lived for 40 years. She worked for General Electric in a manufacturing plant for most of those 40 years.
She retired and moved to Broken Arrow, where she lived for the past 18 years. She enjoyed reading and traveling and always had a flower and vegetable garden. She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Smith and Harlen Erwin, both of Parma, Ohio; two brothers, Stanley “Jiggs” Swboni, of Streetsboro, Ohio, and Joe Swboni, of Hartshorne; nieces, Joann Harris and Nancy Batemen, and many other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Mike, George, John and Frank (Hobo) Swboni, and a sister, Nellie Hignite.
Pallbearers are Bill Bateman, Stanley Swboni, Garret Swboni, Daniel Chaves are Donnie Sutton.
An honorary pallbearer is Joe Swboni.
