McALESTER — Elizabeth Diane Segelquist, 57, of the High Hill Community, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at her home.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bishop Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at High Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Davis officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Oct. 28, 1955, in Bay City, Texas, she was the daughter of Frank Downey Cotton and Betty Lou Hammond Cotton. She graduated from West Columbia High School before earning her bachelor’s degree in business from Stephen F. Austin College in Nacogdoches, Texas.

She married Steven Ray Segelquist on July 8, 1978, in West Columbia, Texas. They moved to the McAlester area where she was a homemaker. They later began their family and she enjoyed staying at home with her daughters.

She later worked for many years with the children at McAlester First Baptist Church with the mother’s day out program.

She was a member of High Hill Baptist Church, where she was active in the teen kids program and enjoyed singing.

Survivors include her husband, Steven Segelquist, of the home; daughters, Lindsey Shults  and husband, Brad, of Skiatook, and Laura Cole and husband, Jeremy, of Durant; grandchildren, Piper Shults and Hunter Cole; parents, Frank and Betty Cotton,     West Columbia, Texas; sister, Tricia Metcalf and husband, Scott, Sonoma, Calif.; mother-in-law, Mildred Segelquist, of McAlester; sister-in-law, Eileen  Cunningham and husband, David, of McAlester; brothers-in-law, Randy Segelquist and wife, Tammi, of McAlester, and Russell Segelquist and wife, Cara, of Chandler, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of McAlester, P.O. Box 1333, McAlester, OK, 74502, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-1718.

Pallbearers will be Joe Hodge, Bob Camp, Ed Camp, Wingo Miller, Steve Kitchens and Kenny Ridenour.
