Cleo Spaulding, 93, of McAlester, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at a local nursing home.
Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Cemetery, Checotah, officiated by the Rev. J.T. Carnell.
Funeral services are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Born Nov. 15, 1919, in Checotah, he was the son of Newton and Effie Roark Spaulding.
After finishing high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served for two years.
He was stationed on the USS Matanikav during World War II.
He lived in Arkansas and California and later in Kansas.
He also worked at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah.
He was retired from Boeing in Wichita, Kan., and Lockheed in McAlester.
He was of the Baptist faith.
His enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Pauline Spaulding, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Leon and Terry Spaulding, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Patricia Ann Towns, of Tulsa; sisters, Uldean Killingsworth, of Broken Arrow, Kathleen Dunn, of Groves Beach, Calif., and Loraine Alford, of Nipoma, Calif.; brothers, Jim Spaulding, of Stillwater, Curtis Spaulding, of Bakersfield, Calif., Billy Spaulding, of Lamont, Calif.; and, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gene Spaulding, Wayne Spaulding and Harm Spaulding.
