John Ed Sitter dies at 74

McALESTER — John Ed Sitter, 74, of Krebs, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa.

Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hartshorne with Father Hung Viet Le officiating. Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were  under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.

Born Feb. 28, 1938, in Hartshorne, he was the son of Charles B. and Hazel (Melugin) Sitter. He grew up in Hartshorne and attended the Holy Rosary Catholic School. He married Dale Vaughan on Oct. 3, 1958, in Wilburton.

He served in the United States Army National Guard for 11 years, which six months were active duty and one year in the United States Army Reserve.

He worked for Rockwell/Boeing for 32 years retiring in 1997. From 1997 until 2009 he was a contractor and his first love was working with wood.

Survivors include his wife, Dale Sitter, of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Johnny D. Sitter, San Marcos, Texas, and Derek E. and Jeanne Sitter, Bend, Ore.; one granddaughter, Lily Dale Sitter, Bend; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Becki and Anthony Nail, of Bache, and Sue Wagner, of North Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marianne Keeth, and two brothers, Chuck Sitter and Tommy Sitter.

Pallbearers were Mikey Joe Maisano, Jimmy Smith, Robert Bernasky, Teddy Joe Sitter, Frankie Ray Ranallo and  John William Ranallo.
