Willa Jean Hallmark dies at 83

McALESTER — Willa Jean Hallmark, 83, of Hartshorne, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Latimer County Nursing Home in Wilburton.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne with the Rev. David Monks officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Funeral services are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.

Born April 26, 1929, in Quail, Texas, she was the daughter of John Pierce and Kathrine (Biffle) Cummings. She graduated Quail High School and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. She married Horice Hallmark on May 30, 1947, in Weatherford, Texas.

She was a social worker for the Department of Human Services.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil Horace and Kathy Hallmark, of Hartshorne, and Larry Don and Vicki Hallmark, of Hartshorne; one daughter and son-in-law, Valerie Sue and Joe Thompson, of Sapulpa; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jerry Hallmark; parents, three brothers and one granddaughter.
