McALESTER — Renda Kiser, 97, of Henryetta, formerly of Haywood, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Okmulgee Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Pastor Clint Gray officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Aug. 31, 1914, in Stidham, she was the daughter of William and Sarah (Adams) Gray.  At the age of 6, she and her family moved to the Haywood area where she lived until 1982 when she moved to Henryetta to be near her daughter.

She married Gene Kiser on Aug. 2, 1937, in Arpelar. Together they owned and operated a small service station and grocery store in Haywood for several years. They also had a small greenhouse and sold plants and flowers. She also worked at Seamprufe as a seamstress for more than 20 years.

She enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables from the garden. She loved to cook and bake for the family.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jerry Tucker, of Henryetta, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Pamela Tucker, Larry Tucker and his wife, Rachel, and their children, Hayley and Nicholas, and Julie Barnes and her husband, Timmy, and their daughter, Allie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Letha Henderson, and four brothers, George, Elmer, Ernest and Harvey Gray.
