McALESTER — Norma Walden, 90 of  Wister, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services were held Oct. 3 at First United Methodist Church in Wister with the Rev. Ed Harwood, Will Langrehr and Lamar Ford officiating. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Born Nov. 16, 1921, in LeFlore, she was the daughter of Sherman and Nellie Harris, Dehart. She was a clerk at Wister Food Market.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wister.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Danny Minor, of Wister; three sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Linda Walden, of Wister, Gary and Darlene Walden, of Beggs, and Steve and Laura Walden, of Wister.

Also, 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley and Sherman Cox, of Oklahoma City, and Rosemary Powell, of Oklahoma City, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; her grandson, Casey Branstetter; great-granddaughter, Skye Lee Amos; sister, Betty Brooks, and brothers-in-law, Roy Brooks and Wayne Powell.
