Vivian E. Gray Woodall

McALESTER — Vivian E. Gray Woodall, 82, of Krebs, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, in McAlester.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hudson-Phillips Chapel with the Rev. Dane Robinson officiating. Burial will be at  Gerty Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Born on Dec. 10, 1929, in Peacock (Aspermont County), Texas, she was the daughter of James Avenue Gray and Naomi (Reese) Gray. As a child they moved to eastern Oklahoma, south of Allen in the Hamilton Community. She went to school at Hamilton School until the eighth grade and graduated eighth grade at Tupelo. She attended three years of high school in Tupelo then they moved to Plainview, north of Mangum, here she graduated in May of 1949.

She married Carl Gibbs in September 1950 and had five children.  

They shared 20 years during that time they served in the United States Air Force where they traveled to numerous places including Maine, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Texas, Massachusetts and Hawaii.

She served in the NCO wives organization.

Her husband preceded her in death after 35 years of marriage.

She then married Raymond Woodall, of Gerty, on Dec. 21, 1976. After her husband preceded her in death she moved to Krebs and continued to make that her home until her passing.

She was a member of Oklahoma Eastern Star Mangum Chapter No. 114, being inducted at 18 years of age. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Del City.

She attended Oscar Rose Junior College in 1975.

She received many awards including High School Valedictorian and from Kiamichi Technology Center in 1999 for Internet Computer Training, the American Legion School Award and numerous top sales awards for Avon Cosmetics.

Survivors include her children, James Calvin, Judy Gail, Keith Wayne, Vance Erwin and June Ann; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and siblings, Ed Gray, Wade Gray and Doris Woods.

She was preceded in death by both her spouses, Carl and Raymond; her parents; three grandchildren and two siblings Oleta Porter and James Gray.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Gibbs, Christopher Gibbs, Jim Gibbs, Robert Muzingo, Bryce Lancaster and Paul Boydstun.
