McALESTER —
Daniel “Danny” Lee Cochran, 60, of McAlester, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, in McAlester.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Gerald Heggie, officiating. Eulogy will be given by Scooter Cochran. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Jan. 26, 1953, in Heavener, he was the son of Henry Denton and Lavada Ruth (Gregory) Cochran. He came to McAlester with his parents at an early age and was raised and educated in McAlester, graduating from McAlester High School in 1971.
After high school he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State College at Durant. It was there he met and later married Jo Beth Scearce on Oct. 19, 1973. Shortly after marriage they moved to McAlester in 1974.
He worked for several years in the medical supply business. His last engagement was with Mobility Plus.
He was a member of the North “A” Street Church of Christ.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing, Oklahoma University football and playing with grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Beth Cochran, of the home; children, Leighanne and husband, Curtis Johnson, of Oklahoma City, Dan and wife, Jessica Cochran, of McAlester, Bradley Cochran, of McAlester, and Amanda and husband, Eric Grantham, of McAlester; mother, Ruth Cochran, of McAlester.
Also, brother, Arnold and wife, Debby Cochran, of Norman; sister, Ann and husband, Johnny Johns, of McAlester, and grandchildren, Andrew and Cole Lee, J.R. Wyatt, Isabella LoCicero, Annabel Grantham, Hayden Johnson and J.D. and Bryan Cochran.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Cochran.
Pallbearers will be Danny Cochran, Brad Cochran, Jeff Johns, Joe McKelvey, Dax Cochran and Rick Holloway.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arnold Cochran, Eric Grantham, Johnny Johns, Clay Potter, James Blalock, Andy Dungan, Jarrod Eldridge, Dr. A.K. Khorasanchian, Veterans of Foreign Wars friends, grandsons and nephews.
